	The beaches Anse Dufour and Anse Noire are two adjacent beaches just separated by a rocky headland. They are located located in the southwest of the island, just north of Anse d'Arlets. These two beaches are famous for their geology. Anse Dufour and Anse Noire, only distant from a few tens of meters, differ completely. The beach Anse Dufour is composed of white sand whereas the beach Anse Noire is made of black sand of volcanic origin and looks like the beaches of the North of Martinique. The excursion Gallochat-Grande Anse (3h), starting from Gallochat passes by Anse Noire and Anse Dufour, for then passing under Morne Réduit (307 m) and climbing until Morne Baguidi (146 m) which offers a splendid sight on Fort of France, the Pitons of Carbet and the Mount Pelée.

Anse Dufour

Anse Dufour has a small village of fishermen. Anse Dufour and Anse Noire are also famous for their abundant marine life (sea turtles of half a meter long), clear waters and reefs ideal for diving and for snorkeling.
